Fall Application & Informational Schedule

About FLARE

The following should be used as information to help you make an informed decision about being a member of FLARE, but please note that your experience may look different.

What does a “week in FLARE” look like?

A typical week in FLARE will consist of a general meeting on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. and study hours twice a week, along with various other activities. These activities include socials—anything from movie nights to picnics—or hangouts with families and committees. Some weeks will consist of other events such as service projects or fundraising events.

What did the remote experience look like due to COVID-19?

The remote experience consisted of Zoom meetings to keep in touch with everyone, along with texting buddies being organized to keep the freshmen interacting with one another. Mentors were still available online to help freshmen with their classes and class registration/selection.

Yes

What does the Big/Little Experience entail?

There will be 12 Bigs—former FLARE members of any classification—who will serve as a Big to 4–5 freshmen. Freshmen will get to meet the Bigs and pref them according to similar interests and such, followed by a Big/Little reveal! Bigs attend socials with FLARE as a whole, as well as meet with their Littles on a smaller scale as schedules allow.
