Fall 2022 Application & Informational Schedule: https://flac.tamu.edu/schedule/
Why apply to FRWD?
FRWD provides incoming freshmen with a stepping stone into A&M and Mays Business School. We know the transition from high school to college is a big one. Our goal is to create a family of business majors to give freshmen the confidence to tackle their first year at Texas A&M University! With our sophomore mentors and junior executive team, we have an abundance of knowledge and experience to pass down to incoming freshmen!
In addition, we are the only FLO that takes only Mays Business School Freshmen, which gives us the unique opportunity to help mold our freshmen into well rounded individuals that have the support to be successful in the business world and beyond.
We offer support in every possible way to help our members grow socially, professionally, and academically, and we have a clear track record of success in those areas. Socially, we have alumni in every major women’s and men’s org on campus, and we place heavy emphasis on helping our members find their home here at Texas A&M. Professionally, we have alumni working at every major corporation that you can think of (Amazon, EY, Deloitte, KPMG, Lockheed Martin, PwC, LyondellBasell, Chase), and we have current members interning in some of the most competitive fields. Academically, we hold the distinction of having some of the highest GPAs in Mays Business School and every single one of our mentors who applied for PPA (one of the most exclusive programs on campus) was accepted.
In short, FRWD is an organization for leaders who are willing to grow.
To provide a glimpse into what the experience of being in FRWD looks like, the FLO’s Student Leaders completed an assessment of their previous year. FLOs are evaluated yearly based on several factors. Three of these factors are Leadership, Service, and Social. Here is what last year’s members experienced in these areas:
Leadership | All of our committees (service, social, PR, and finance) are run solely by our freshmen members, with the guidance and advice of 2 sophomore mentors and a junior exec. Allowing our freshmen to run the committees on their own gives them a chance to experience working in a large organization, while at the same time giving them valuable leadership experience. In addition, we host speakers as well as workshops throughout the year focused on helping all of our members grow as leaders. |
Service | Service is one of our pillars as well as an A&M core value, so we find it very crucial to do our part in the community as a part of our organization. We offer weekly opportunities to get the required points for the month, including park cleanups and volunteering at the Brazos Valley food bank! |
Social | We offer social events almost every day, whether that be eating lunch with your color group or making s’mores on Lake Bryan! We require at least two social points each month, which is more than easy to achieve with all of the opportunities that we offer. Social events are what make FRWD a family. |
