Fall Application & Informational Schedule: https://flac.tamu.edu/schedule/
Aggie Fish Club is an organization dedicated to the involvement of freshman at Texas A&M University. Through weekly meetings, influential speakers, committee projects, Buddy Huddle activities and leadership retreats, the freshman are provided opportunities to grow as individuals, students, and Aggie Leaders. Aggie Fish club serves as a support system to the freshman and encourages development through positive reinforcement, mentors, and friendship. AFC also focuses on raising money for our two philanthropies, Phoebes Home and New Horizons.
Why apply to AFC?
An applicant should apply for Aggie Fish Club to increase their leadership skills, sense of selfless service, and to belong to a diverse and accepting environment that will make the transition during their first year at A&M welcoming and enriching.
The following should be used as information to help you make an informed decision about being a member of AFC, but please note that your experience may look different.
What does a “week in AFC” look like?
A week in AFC consists of committee meetings either on Mondays or Sundays, mandatory general meetings on Wednesdays and an optional social hangout with a small group called “Buddy Huddles” on Thursday. Committee meetings and general meetings last usually around an hour, and buddy huddles are optional with no time limit. Freshmen are only required to give two hours a week to Aggie Fish Club.
What did the remote experience look like due to COVID-19?
Our FLO’s experience remote was somewhat challenging, but overall doable. We continued our general meetings over zoom, and had a guest speaker give a presentation over zoom as well. We encouraged small groups to continue to meet up over zoom and participated in “zoom buddies”, which assigned different freshmen and counselors in groups that switched weekly. This was successful, we still saw the same amount of participation remote as we did in person.

Being involved with AFC I can expect to pay…
Dues & Known Costs | · Fall Semester: $90

Money should never be a reason a freshmen can’t be a member of Aggie Fish Club. We are very willing to create a payment plan with students who need to so. |

What does the Big/Little Experience entail?
Big fams usually compose of 2-3 bigs, along with 2-3 freshmen. Bigs are held responsible to make time for their littles. Bigs provide a support system to littles, and the families can participate in various mixers AFC held throughout the year.
